Privacy policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
This is an English translation of our German privacy policy. In case of doubt, the German version applies.
In short
- The website sets cookies (Google Analytics) only with your consent. Without it there is no tracking and no third-party scripts.
- The app needs no account. Events, contacts and tasks stay on your device and in the accounts you already use (e.g. iCloud, Google).
- Analytics and marketing services in the app only run with your consent.
- We don't sell data and show no ads.

Email: info@miracal.app
This policy covers the website www.miracal.app and the Miracal app for iOS and Android.
2. This website (www.miracal.app)
Hosting and server logs
The website is hosted on Microsoft Azure (Azure Static Web Apps, Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd., Dublin) in the West Europe region (Netherlands). When you visit, the host processes technically necessary data such as IP address, date and time, the page requested and browser information to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We don't analyse this data or build user profiles.
Cookies and web analytics with Google Analytics
Without your consent the website sets no cookies and loads no analytics or advertising services; fonts are served from our own server. On your first visit we ask you in a notice. Only if you choose “Accept” do we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to understand how the website is used: which pages are viewed and for how long, which page or search brought you here, device, browser and approximate location (country/region). We also count clicks on the store buttons. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Google sets cookies (_ga, _ga_…) that last up to two years. Advertising features and Google Signals are turned off; analytics data is deleted after 14 months.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer; the analytics cookies are then deleted. Google may transfer data to the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. See Google's privacy policy.
Your choice in the cookie notice and a language picked in the footer are stored locally by your browser (local storage); they aren't sent to us. Calculators and tools on this website (e.g. the age calculator) run entirely in your browser; your input is not transmitted.
Links to the App Store and Google Play
When you click a download button, you leave our website and Apple's or Google's privacy policies apply. The links contain a campaign label (e.g. “en_home_hero”) so we can see in the store statistics which page led to downloads – without personal data.
Calendar subscriptions (ICS)
If you subscribe to a calendar from this website (e.g. public holidays), your calendar app fetches the file from our host regularly. Only the server log data described above is processed.
Contacting us by email
If you write to us – directly or via the contact page – we process your email address, your name (if given) and your message to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for questions about purchases and the app, otherwise (f)). We delete the message once it's resolved and no legal retention obligations apply.
3. The Miracal app
No account, data on your device
Miracal has no user account and no cloud storage of its own. The app stores tasks, settings, countdowns and stay-in-touch reminders locally on your device. It reads and edits events, contacts and – on iPhone – Apple Reminders directly in the accounts on your device (e.g. iCloud, Google, Microsoft); syncing with those accounts is handled by Apple, Google or Microsoft under their terms.
Permissions
The app only asks for permissions a feature needs. You can refuse or revoke each of them in your device settings; the related feature is then unavailable.
- Calendars: show, create, edit and delete events.
- Contacts: show birthdays, link contacts to events, stay-in-touch reminders.
- Reminders (iOS only): sync with a list in Apple Reminders if you turn it on.
- Location: weather forecast for your current place and detecting your time zone. Alternatively you can pick a fixed place.
- Camera and photos (iOS only): add photos to events, tasks or contacts. Images stay on your device or in the contact.
- Notifications: reminders for events, tasks, birthdays and meetings, and the daily agenda.
Weather forecast
If you use the weather forecast, the app sends your chosen or current location (coordinates) to our server on Microsoft Azure in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, which retrieves the forecast from Apple WeatherKit (Apple Inc.) and returns it to the app. Our server does not store the location. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are processed by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google); we never receive payment details. To manage subscriptions and offers we use Adapty (Adapty Tech Inc., USA), which processes a pseudonymous user ID, purchase and subscription information and device information (model, operating system, language, country) (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
App configuration
We use Firebase Remote Config (Google Ireland Ltd.) to load settings that control features and offers in the app without publishing an update. An installation ID and device and app information are processed (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is running the app reliably).
Crash and error reports
To fix errors we use Firebase Crashlytics (Google Ireland Ltd.). When the app crashes, technical information such as device model, operating system, app version and the error trace is sent. Certain technical error messages (app version, platform, language, pseudonymous user ID, error text) are also sent to an internal channel in the Telegram messenger (Telegram Messenger Inc.) so we can react quickly. The legal basis in each case is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Analytics and campaign measurement only with consent
Only if you agree in the app do we use the following services to improve the app and measure our advertising campaigns (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG):
- Firebase Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) – usage statistics, e.g. which features are used.
- UXCam (UXCam Inc., USA) – interaction analytics to find usability problems.
- Meta SDK (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) – measuring installs and purchases from ads on Facebook and Instagram.
- Tenjin (Tenjin Inc., USA) – attributing installs to advertising campaigns.
On iPhone the app also asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the app settings; this doesn't affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
4. Transfers outside the EU
Some of the providers above are based in or process data in the USA (Adapty, UXCam, Tenjin and possibly Google and Meta); Telegram also processes data outside the EU. Where there is no adequacy decision and the provider isn't certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, transfers are based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
5. Retention
Data on your device stays there until you delete it or the app. The host deletes website server logs after a short time. Crash reports and analytics data are deleted after the providers' standard periods (usually 14 months at most). We keep purchase data as long as needed for the subscription and legal obligations (e.g. tax retention).
6. Security
All connections between the app, the website and our servers are encrypted (HTTPS). We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data; however, no one can guarantee completely secure transmission or storage.
7. Children
Miracal is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have, we delete it promptly.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR). Email us at info@miracal.app. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, e.g. the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
There is no automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. You aren't obliged to provide data; without the related permissions, however, some features won't work.
9. Changes
We update this policy when the app or website changes. The version published here applies; we'll inform you about material changes in the app.
